We were saddened and shocked when news broke about the collapse of Thomas Cook earlier this week. We operate from our Spalding head office, less than half an hour away from the Peterborough headquarters of Thomas Cook, and most of us know someone that is or has been employed by the popular travel company.

Local support

It’s been encouraging, however, to see the city-wide local support offered to those affected using the Facebook page “Thomas Cook employee help page” and the hashtag “ThomasCookcollapse”.

Local taxi firms have offered free transport to people travelling to interviews, local hairdressers have offered free hair appointments, “Posh” (Peterborough Football Club) and the Peterborough ice hockey club have offered free tickets to local games. Additionally, recruitment companies are offering free CV checking and extra support and many organisations are offering job opportunities.

Two software development roles

We’d like to join the local show of support by extending an invitation to any prior employees who were employed in software development roles at Thomas Cook to get in touch because we’re currently recruiting.
