FPC is the UK's fresh produce trade association. Widely recognised as the voice of the UK industry, the FPC plays a unique and crucial role in creating opportunities, defending livelihoods and supporting the growth of its members' businesses from picking and packing to retailer and restaurant.
As a trade association, FPC needed a website and back-end solution that met the needs of it's members, but equally as importantly, achieved business efficiencies and automated key member tasks such as event management and revenue generation for FPC. FPC wanted an integration partner that they could trust to deliver a glitch-free project which adhered to the budget and time scales required.
PSP-IT met with Fresh Produce Consortium to develop a project plan based on the following requirements;
Develop a solution that allowed FPC's CRM system to interact with the new website for the following functionality;
Event Bookings including automated emails with contact details etc.
Event Payments including order payment confirmation automated emails
Event Reservations - with an automated email reminding FPC staff to generate invoices
Set up an new Account, Change an account, Delete an account - all whilst automatically updating the CRM system without the need for manual input
Updating Social Media and providing a record of updates to the CRM system
The contingencies for the project were as follows;
A live website which remains stable through the development project and is not subject to down-time
PSP-IT work with existing systems to develop a solution
The proposed solution includes the facility for exception management as the system develops
PSP-IT provide full training and testing on the finished project
PSP-IT provide ongoing maintenance options to support business growth
PSP-IT developed a solution that met all FPC's criteria perfectly. The project was delivered on-schedule and to the agreed budget.
The key deliverables for the project were met successfully;
There was no down-time for the website whilst the solution was implemented
All FPC staff were fully briefed (and trained as needed)in the Integration capabilities
Flexibility to scale-up/ down integration depending on business needs
No additional outlay on add-ons to the CRM system making sure the IT budget stayed on track
It is a measure of success for the project that it still runs successfully a number of years after it's initial launch thus proving an excellent return on investment.
