Infrastructure and IT review saves client £300k in cost

Our outsourced IT Management service substantially reduced a global awarding body's yearly IT costs.


After utilising our outsourced IT management services, one of our clients saved £300,000 per year in operational costs. The global awarding body (who has more than 100,000 members worldwide) was shocked by PSP's findings and they are now reaping the huge financial rewards.

As part of our long-standing partnership with the client, they approached PSP with a need to streamline and improve their digital infrastructure, resulting in an improved member experience.

The client recognised they had multiple systems which were performing the same tasks, and vendors who were not being held to account.

We believed that our Deputy CTO's relationship with the client, and their deep knowledge, meant they were best equipped to take on this results-driven challenge.


We undertook a deep analysis of their People, Systems and Process (PSP) to gain a deep understanding of their technology and how it aligns with their organisational goals.

As part of the review, PSP identified several areas for improvement and cost saving, including:

  • Multiple systems performing the same role
  • Suppliers and vendors underperforming
  • Unused systems that could be decommissioned
  • Excess servers that could be consolidated/replaced

By addressing these issues, we delivered the client an annual saving of £300,000 in maintenance costs. This was from a reduction in servers, license cost and third party maintenance contracts which were not being fulfilled.

As well as the huge financial reward, the not-for-profit saw its processes streamlined and staff productivity vastly improved.
